Making Pizzas

Today we made pizzas for our cooking project. It was fun but I think the kids were a little confused. :) You had to cook the dough a little bit first and then add the toppings. I think they thought I was just giving them bread to eat so they took a bite or two out of the half cooked pizza. :) They got it figured out though and they turned out very yummy!

The oven at the preschool is quite old so you have to watch things really carefully when you are cooking. Of course I didn't get back to our first batch of pizza crusts in time and they ended up looking like burnt balls of dough. Luckily I bought a little extra and we just made them again! :)

Enjoying the Beautiful Weather

Monday was such a nice day! It was the perfect day to talk about Spring! We took a nature walk around the building, picking up flowers and leaves, sticks and other things. Then when we came back inside we sang songs about Springtime. Shelly's stepdaughters joined us for class today too. They were a big help playing with the kids. Of course everyone wanted to sit by them all day long! :)

Working on our Fine Motor Skills

Look at how they had to use their fine motor skills to pick up these tiny little beads to decorate their picture frames. Next week sometime I'll have their Superhero pictures printed so that we can put them in the picture frames.

Fun with Marshmallows

We did one of our favorite activities again this past week. The kids really enjoy building things with the marshmallows. Some of them build in lines, like they are creating a necklace or a road. One child mentioned that they were building a fire hose. Other children build up, creating cubes and other fun things.

Choose Your Own Adventure

Look at this tower! What a creation!!

After that super stinky split pea soup (wow, that was a mouth full), we filled our sensory table with nice smelling sudsy water. The kids got a bit wet but they had fun with it!

We put together our brand new puzzle. The kids really enjoy these large puzzles so this week we added a solar system and a puzzle of colors with their words in English and Spanish. The kids seem to really enjoy learning their Spanish colors. They are always asking me about ones they don't know. Last week we introduced purple: morado.

We also added a new carpet for the kids to drive their cars on. It's been a fun addition to our classroom!

Parachute Play

We had fun last week playing with the parachute outside. It was such a beautiful day! We bounced balls on the parachute and watched them fly high! And the kids just LOVED hiding under the parachute while Shelly and I moved it up and down.

Quiet Reading Time

Teacher Shelley was so nice and went to the Library and got us some fun new books to read! The kids did really well today at grabbing a book and sitting to read for some quiet time. They all earned a gumball for it!!

Outside on a Sunny Day

We really enjoyed the sun today! The kids had fun swinging on the swings and playing in the sandbox.

Valentine's Day Party

Our Valentine's Day Party was full of yummy good food and the kids did a great job singing their song for their moms! :)

Outdoor Fun

Here's just some fun photos of the kids playing outside on one of our very few nice days!! :) The kids two favorite activities are playing in the sand box and swinging on the swings. Some of them have been working on pumping their legs back and forth so they can swing by themselves. Sometimes I'll do it next to them so they can copy my leg movements. They love trying to do it on their own!

Our Bus Trip

Our class went on a bus ride around town! The kids really had fun going down hills and under bridges, looking at the water and boats and other fun things!

Circle Time

Every day we have two circle times set aside, one in the early part of the day and one at the very end of class. We sing songs, read books, play games, talk together and much more! Here's a few photos of teacher April leading in some silly song and dance. Our favorite class song is Wiggle Wiggle Shake and Jiggle.

Look how sweetly we are listening while teacher April reads to us!
